Supercharge Your Social Media Engagement

Supercharge Your Social Media Engagement

First of all, congratulations! You are taking your social media marketing to the next level with awesome creative content, which is in line with your strategy ??????. But do you find you’re not getting as much engagement as you’d like? Not getting enough views, likes and reposts? Well, we have a few suggestions to help with that.

In this article, we are going to talk about ways by which you can  improve the effectiveness of social media content and boost your overall social media engagement. Because it’s not just about posting. There’s a method to this [social media] madness :-).

Here we go…

How to gain more social media engagement

Be Original

It goes without saying; if you want to make a mark in your industry, the last thing your target audience needs from you is recycled [copied] content. Take your time, put in the work and create great content for your followers. That is not to say you cannot re-share content from another source that you think your followers may find useful – if that’s what you’re doing, give credit where credit is due. What you should not do is copy someone else’s content and make it look like yours – it’s not a good look.

Be Useful

One of the keys to social media engagement and shareability is usefulness. Bear in mind that usefulness is subjective. That is to say, what one audience may find useful, another may not. And that is why we said one of the key things to consider when developing your social media strategy is your target audience. So, if you’re looking to supercharge your social media engagement, ensure that what you’re putting out is useful to your followers.

Be Visual

According to Larry Kim, posts with images produce 650% higher engagement than text-only. Nuff said

Be Funny

Everyone [ok, most of us, at least… I think] likes a good laugh. So, as often as possible, incorporate some humour into your posts, especially if it aligns with your brand, and your followers will be more likely to hit that “like” button – see what we did there?

Give stuff away

If you’ve tried all of the above and you’re still not getting the traction you want,  you could always give away One Million Naira ?.

On a more serious note though, giveaways are a great way to create traction and drive engagement on your social media accounts. Think contests and #hashtags and you’re well on your way ?.

PS: Be Patient

You’ve heard the saying: ‘Rome was not built in a day’. It’s true. While we’d all like to become viral sensations and ‘break’ the interweb with our brilliance, chances of that of happening are quite slim (except you’ve got some awesome dance moves, then go for it). Typically, it takes time to establish yourself online: to build a following, to build trust and to establish yourself as a thought leader or opinion leader in your field. It takes time. Give it time.

Good luck!
